AMB Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of Atlanta United, announced Sunday a financial investment in Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen FC.
AMBSE is taking a minority stake in Aberdeen and will own less than 10 percent of the club, according to a press release. It will have no operational involvement or day-to-day oversight responsibilities. Atlanta United president Darren Eales will join Aberdeen’s board of directors as part of the deal.
“We’re thrilled about this opportunity to partner with Aberdeen, a successful club with a long and proud history,” Eales said in a prepared statement. “The partnership is a natural fit, with synergies both on and off the pitch.
