In the weeks after adopting daughter Sloane, Orlando Pride captain Ashlyn Harris said there’s been only one concern — the expected lack of sleep.
“We’re happy. We’re healthy. We’re doing this thing –– and trying to tape our eyelids to our forehead at this point,” Harris said with a laugh Friday during a call with reporters. “But I heard it gets easier.”
Harris and Pride co-captain Ali Krieger announced the adoption of their daughter on Feb. 14, two days after she was born.
Harris said they don’t feel ready yet to share the details of their adoption journey, which took place over the past six months with support and coordination from the Pride, but the married couple has been overjoyed to share the experience with family and teammates.
