The Orlando Magic are now one of six teams currently seeking a new head coach after that list grew by two Wednesday when the New Orleans Pelicans fired Stan Van Gundy after one season and the Washington Wizards parted ways with Scott Brooks after failing to reach a contract extension.
With the Pelicans and Wizards joining the Celtics, Pacers and Trail Blazers in the search for a new coach, the Magic now have even more competition in the hiring process.
Fox Sports’ Melissa Rohlin reported this week that the Lakers have given the Magic permission to interview assistant coach Jason Kidd, who worked with Orlando GM John Hammond during their time in Milwaukee.
