Another year, another Borregales kicker for Miami Hurricanes

Vivian Borregales remembers being in line to sign up Miami Hurricanes kicker Jose Borregales for football for the first time when he was 10.

Both started playing soccer at 4 — Jose while the family still lived in Venezuela. As football intrigued him and Vivian gave in to letting him play, a coach approached Andres when they were all waiting in line, asking how old he was. When the coach received the answer, he advised them that he was old enough to play Pee-Wee, as well.

On Wednesday, the first day of college football’s Early Signing Period, Andres signed his letter of intent to kick for the program his brother was kicker for this season.
