DAVIE — Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has made steady improvements in training camp that some of the team’s defenders have noticed roughly a week before the season opener.
Tagovailoa’s field vision is one of his strong suits, but Dolphins safety Eric Rowe said the rookie quarterback did have some early struggles staring down his receivers before making throws.
“I’ve noticed through camp he’s gotten a lot better with his eyes. At the safety position, we just read the quarterback and beforehand he was staring down routes, but he’s gotten a lot better with his eyes.”
Tagovailoa continues to grow more comfortable through Dolphins practice, and could possibly be active and able to play — behind expected starter Ryan Fitzpatrick — when Miami begins the season on the road against the New England Patriots on Sept.
