Alabama celebrates perfect season, shifts focus to starting 2021 run

As the confetti covered the field at Hard Rock Stadium, Alabama coach Nick Saban once again hoisted the College Football Playoff national championship trophy.

With the specter of the COVID-19 pandemic hanging over this season, the Crimson Tide capped arguably one of the best seasons in school history, knocking off Ohio State 52-24 to claim the championship Monday night in Miami Gardens.

Alabama (13-0) finished undefeated for the first time since 2009 with a roster that features what could be as many as 11 players selected in the first two rounds of the upcoming NFL draft.

This year’s performance was as dominant as any in recent memory, with the Tide’s average margin of victory 29 points per game.
