UM’s 2021 class, now with 16 commitments, is ranked No. 9 by both 247 Sports and Rivals. It still, however, has the glaring absence of a quarterback.
Last summer, the Hurricanes were in the mix for California’s Jake Garcia before he committed to Southern Cal in September. Earlier this month, the Trojans added the commitment of fellow four-star signal caller Miller Moss, and while Garcia remains committed, there is speculation he could back off that pledge and reopen his recruitment with two quarterbacks now in USC’s class.
Ryan Rodriguez, a left tackle for Miami Columbus who is committed to Miami to play center, says he has been in contact with Garcia, the nation’s third- and fourth-ranked pro-style quarterback, according to Rivals and 247, respectively.
