Adrian Winter took a risk, betting on himself and his ability to succeed in a completely unknown environment.
Orlando was so much different than Switzerland. It was hotter — nearly 20 degrees hotter in summer. He had no family or friends nearby and there definitely were no mountains.
"It was not so easy to start, but if you want something new, you have to risk," said Winter, who joined Orlando City as an attacking midfielder last July. "No risk, no fun. I think it was very good, my decision."
Winter has been one of the most consistent players on the field so far this season, earning a regular starting role as a winger for the Lions.
