With Texas’ and Oklahoma’s expected move to the SEC leaving the Big 12′s future in doubt, commissioner Bob Bowlsby is accusing ESPN of working with the American Athletic Conference to take in the group’s remaining eight teams.
“The Big 12 is concerned that the American Athletic Conference [AAC] is actively attempting to assume all eight remaining league members once Texas and Oklahoma are formally accepted into the SEC, league sources tell CBS Sports,” Dennis Dodd reported on CBSSports.com
“I have absolute certainty that they [ESPN] have been involved in manipulating other conferences to go after our members,” Bowlsby told The Associated Press on Wednesday after sending a cease-and-desist letter to the network.
