There are no hard feelings from American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco when asked about the decision by member schools Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF to accept bids to the Big 12. He’s been through this before and it comes with the territory.
“We’ve had these excellent relationships, and you can’t take this stuff personally,” Aresco told the Orlando Sentinel Friday evening. “You move on, you understand why they’re doing it. You would like to have had them stay.”
Conference realignment isn’t new to Aresco. He’s dealt with it throughout his entire tenure as a commissioner in the Big East and the American.
