The Lions notched their first win of the Oscar Pareja era on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Inter Miami. A late-game goal from Nani clinched the win in the opening match of the MLS is Back tournament and the first meeting between the two teams.

Wednesday night’s game clearly reflected how long it had been since either team played a professional match. Veterans such as Robin Jansson bobbled passes for turnovers at midfield; young players such as João Moutinho earned yellow cards for sloppy tackles.

That sloppiness led to Orlando City surrendering a goal shortly after half time — loose marking in the box allowed a pair of passes to crack open space for Juan Agudelo to score.
