CORVALLIS, Ore. – Senior Sydney Wiese earned another piece of national recognition Thursday, as the guard was named one of 10 semifinalists fir the Naismith Trophy.
The Naismith Trophy is awarded to the national player of the year each season, and is presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. The voting committee will narrow the field to four finalists on March 17, before selecting the winner the week of the Final Four.
Wiese is one of 14 players in conference history to make the All-Pac-12 Coaches Team four times. The senior, who has already been named to the watch lists for the Wooden Award, Wade Trophy, Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and Lieberman Award, is the Pac-12's career record holder for 3-pointers.
