Oregon State Beavers coach Gary Andersen knows his roster could use an injection of ready-made Pac-12 talent next season, and he and his staff are hard at work trying to land commitments from players who can come in and compete.
Andersen accomplished that task Thursday evening, landing a commitment from All-WSFL and All-ACCAC Defensive Player of the Year Wesley Payne, a linebacker who registered 149 tackles for Pima Community College this season.
The 5-foot-11, 210-pound sophomore linebacker, originally out of Mountain Pointe High School (Arizona), was second in all of junior college football in tackles and averaged 13.
