Wayne Tinkle among coaches open to college athletes earning money for use of likeness

CORVALLIS - Last September, Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle said he hoped the FBI investigation into college basketball would bring positive change to the sport.

On Tuesday, he offered a measured view on what some of that change would look like, saying it would "make sense" to allow players to earn money for the use of their likeness while in college.

"I'm not going to put my stamp on it," Tinkle said before practice. "But I think it makes sense. If their likeness is being used for profit while they're playing college basketball, some of that should get back to them for sure.
