CORVALLIS -- A sweaty Cory Hall greeted reporters at the end of Oregon State's practice Thursday at the Merritt Truax Indoor Center.
Former OSU coach Jerry Pettibone used to watch practice from a tower.
Hall, nearing the end of his second week as OSU's interim coach, stays at ground level. The former NFL safety gets involved.
"If I could, I would be the 12th man," Hall said. "I would put a helmet on. I would be hitting a tackle, or a guard, or the quarterback."
The Beavers were loud and spirited in the part of practice open to the media, which included a scrimmage for younger players on the roster.
