BEAVERTON — Two future Oregon State athletes were honored at the Oregon Sports Awards on Thursday at Nike World Headquarters.
South Salem's Katie McWilliams was selected as the prep girls basketball player of the year.
McWilliams, 6-2, led the Saxons to the 6A state title and averaged 15.5 points, 6 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game as a senior.
A five-star prospect who was recruited by several Pacific-12 Conference schools, McWilliams signed to play guard for the Beavers.
David Brosius of McMinnville was named the prep baseball player of the year.
Brosius led the McMinnville to the 6A semifinals and a 24-6 overall record this season.
