CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tres Tinkle was one of 46 players named to the initial watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy as selected by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).
Tinkle has now been named to the watch lists for the John R. Wooden Award, the Naismith Trophy Men's Player of the Year, the Lute Olson Award, the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award and the Oscar Robertson Trophy.
Since its founding in 1956, the USBWA has named a national player of the year. In the 1997-98 season, the award was named in honor of the legendary Oscar Robertson, "The Big O.
