Oregon State athletic director Todd Stansbury is leaving Corvallis to become the athletic director at his alma mater, Georgia Tech, according to multiple reports.
Stansbury departs OSU after less than two years in the athletic department's top position. He spent three years as Central Florida's athletic director and was OSU's associate athletic director under Bob De Carolis for the nine years prior to that. Stansbury replaced De Carolis, who resigned in May of 2015 when president Ed Ray told him he would not extend his contract.
Though OSU's top head coaching positions -- football's Gary Andersen, men's basketball's Wayne Tinkle, women's basketball's Scott Rueck and baseball's Pat Casey -- were hired before Stansbury arrived, his tenure was marked by innovation within the department.
