CORVALLIS – On certain midnights throughout the summer, Tim Cook would trudge out to the Oregon State practice field with Seth Collins.
For varying reasons, both were in need of reps on their own time. Collins, quite prominently, had missed spring practice due to his decision to transfer to Northern Illinois. Once he backtracked and elected to stay at OSU, he spent the offseason preparing for a transition from quarterback to wide receiver.
But the work had an even greater sense of urgency for Cook. The transfer from Eastern Arizona Community College missed all of last season with a torn pectoral muscle and is now a senior who must wait until after the season to learn whether the NCAA will accept his petition for another year in Corvallis.
