Thompson brothers key to Oregon State men's basketball success entering pivotal stretch

CORVALLIS -- Ethan Thompson is quick to point out that he started the family trend of growing out his hair.

The wavy, dark locks have long been a trademark for the Oregon State freshman guard. In recent years since arriving in Corvallis, his brother and junior guard Stephen Thompson Jr. has taken to his own, similar version. In the freshman's view, the elder Thompson copied him.

"Ethan owns the copyright," said a laughing Stephen Thompson Sr., their father and an assistant coach with the Beavers.

These are the kinds of barbs thrown back and forth between the siblings who make up the starting OSU backcourt.
