CORVALLIS, Ore. – Jake Thompson tossed his first career complete game, Adley Rutschman went 3-for-4 and Trevor Larnach drove in two to pace Oregon State to a 5-0 win over Washington State in front of a Goss Stadium record crowd of 3,654 Saturday afternoon.
Thompson, backed by an OSU offense that recorded nine hits and six walks, became the nation's first 12-game winner, and just the ninth pitcher in Oregon State history to reach that mark. He held the Cougars to two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. His complete-game effort marked the redshirt junior's longest career outing, surpassing 8 1/3 innings against Utah earlier this season.
