Oregon State redshirt junior Seth Thomas was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association’s All-Academic team for the 2015-16 season, it was announced Friday.
Thomas has a 3.57 GPA in biology. A native or Myrtle Creek, Ore., who graduated from Roseburg High School, he was 26-16, took second place at the Pac-12 tournament at 165 pounds, and advanced to the NCAAs for the first time in his career this past season.
It’s the second such award for Thomas this year. In April he was named a first-team Pacific-12 Conference academic all-star.
“The NWCA All-Academic Team and Individual Team is one of the best acknowledgements that we can give to our coaches and athletes at the end of a physically grueling season,” NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer said.
