Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott remains wedded to the conference-owned Pac-12 Networks, in part because he believes much of the viewing audience will migrate to platforms other than television, and the Pac-12 will be set up well to capitalize.
But we're not there yet, as this piece by Scott D. Pierce of the Salt Lake Tribune points out.
The Pac-12 Nets remain over-promised and under-delivered.
Its viewership and revenue are a small fraction of what other conferences get in partnership deals with ESPN and Fox.
Scott has been unable to either sweet-talk or bludgeon DirecTV or Charter into signing on.
