CORVALLIS, Ore. – On Dec. 18, 2014, the Oregon State men’s basketball team hosted an inaugural Teddy Bear Toss during its game against DePaul. Fans were encouraged to throw stuffed animals on the court during halftime and the event was an immediate success with nearly 1,000 collected. The Beavers ended up defeating the Blue Demons that night, 90-59.
Over the next few months, the stuffed animals were donated to various charities throughout the State of Oregon, including the Children’s Farm Home in Corvallis, Stuffed Animals For Emergencies, Inc., based out of Tigard and Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.
