CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State volleyball team played in front of fans for the first time as the squad prepares for the 2019 season, Friday evening in the annual Orange & Black Scrimmage. Several hundred fans were on hand to get a first impression of this year's squad, while five newcomers were able to get their first taste of playing in front of Beaver Nation.
Team Black won all three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-19.
Despite the sweep, it was closely contested throughout the match.
Fourth-year head coach Mark Barnard was the satisfied with the result, choosing to assess from the sidelines while associate head coach Ron Zwerver and assistant coach Jessica Quinn directed the squads.
