Coaching changes are never easy. There’s never a right time to say when a coach should be let go or when a program should stick with someone through the hard times. In the case of Oregon State, things also haven’t hit rock bottom. The Beavers aren’t pounding their heads against the wall with a single-digit win total. They’ve actually been somewhat successful in terms of a larger view of the program since the 1980’s to the present.
But in terms of head coach Wayne Tinkle, it feels like the narrative and the trajectory around the program has gotten remarkably stale.
