For the second year in a row, Oregon State center Sumner Houston has been placed on the Fall Watch List for the Rimington Trophy. The Trophy is given every year to the best center in FBS football.
Houston was also placed on the Watch List last year, despite it being his first season as a full time Offensive Lineman. Houston originally joined the Beavers as a Defensive Lineman, playing defensive tackle. After his sophomore season, he transitioned to the Offensive Line, and did a stellar job blocking for Ryan Nall last season.
The Rimington Trophy was created by its namesake, Dave Rimington, winner of two Outland Trophy Awards, after he and sportswriter Syd Russell noticed that center was the only position that had no trophy for it.
