acquired Kansas City linebacker D.J. Alexander following a trade with Kansas City, Kansas City announced Friday morning.
The Seahawks acquired Alexander, a former Oregon State star, while sending linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis to Kanas City in the exchange.
Alexander, 25, is entering his third season after Kansas City used its fifth-round pick (No. 172) to select him in the 2015 NFL draft. The 6-foot-2, 233-pound inside linebacker posted 16 combined tackles and one forced fumble in 16 games during the 2016 season. Alexander has excelled on special teams and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as an alternate last season.
