Wichita, KANSAS – Oregon State junior Adley Rutschman has been named a semifinalist Friday for the Buster Posey Award, which is given annually to the nation's top catcher.
The honor is the third in as many days for Rutschman, who was named a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist on Wednesday, and a Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist on Thursday.
Offensively, Rutschman has been stellar, posting a .428 batting average, .581 on-base percentage and .783 slugging percentage. He has been just as good defensively, posting a .994 fielding percentage. He has thrown out 10-of-18 (.
