In an unprecedented move in Oregon college football, former Oregon Ducks running back Thomas Tyner asked for his release from the school Friday in the hopes of making a return to football with the Oregon State Beavers.
It's a Civil War transfer no one saw coming, and it has the potential to be a massive "recruiting" haul of sorts for coach Gary Andersen.
During his two-year stint with the Ducks from 2013-2014, the speedster ran for 1,284 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 5.6 yards per carry and showing flashes of NFL potential.
