Oregon State was impressive in their 2019 home debut, soundly beating West Virginia 9-2. Kevin Abel got the start and was terrific earning his second victory of the season. Abel gave up just one hit and one run in six innings of work. He also struck out 11 batters of the 23 batters he faced. Check out the game highlights below (there’s a few Abel strikeouts in there).
Oregon State broke the game open in the bottom of the 2nd inning. West Virginia’s ace, Alek Manoah, was uncharacteristically erratic in the 2nd inning. Oregon State was able to put up seven runs thanks to two walks, two batters getting hit, a past ball and an error.
