Oregon State once again brought their bats to work as they trounced the New Mexico Lobos in Surprise, AZ. The Beavs piled on 18 hits compared to UNM’s eight and committed one error.
New Mexico was able to draw first blood in the second inning when DH Dan Zakosek drove in a run with an RBI single.
The Beavs quickly took the lead in the bottom of the third and kept it for the remainder of the game. In that frame, the Beavs put up five runs including a two-RBI single from Madrigal, who was then able to score on a throwing error shortly after, and a two-RBI double by Michael Gretler.
