Oregon State’s Cooper Hjerpe was named the Pitcher of the Week by the National College Baseball Writer’s Association. Hjerpe’s performance against Arizona last weekend was one of the best he’s ever had, throwing 11 strikeouts over seven innings and allowing only two hits and one run. In his Freshman season Hjerpe has been a solid performer, with an ERA of 3.65 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. He’s got plenty of room to grow, with games like Saturday’s showing just how high his ceiling can be.
The Beavers have lost another football player to the transfer portal, with Defensive Tackle Evan Bennett announcing his decision to leave OSU today.
