The Oregon State Beavers football program is off to a solid start to the 2019 recruiting cycle, but remains in need of a quarterback.
That search is focused on 247Sports three-star pro-style passer Paul Piferi, the nation's No. 20 player at his position.
Over the weekend, the 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback, out of Villa Park High School (Villa Park, California), took an unofficial visit to Corvallis and came away impressed by what he experienced.
"It was really good," he said. "I liked it a lot. Coach Smith, I've known for a year-and-a-half. I saw him at a quarterback academy in Washington when he was the quarterback coach at the University of Washington.
