CORVALLIS – The season-ending arm injury to top starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen added to the list of No. 7 Oregon State players who have undergone Tommy John surgery.
Among the names on that list are two players that the Beavers still hope to get back this season: redshirt freshman pitcher Christian Martinek and sophomore outfielder Elliott Cary.
Martinek, a 6-foot-5 lefty, hoped to crack the OSU starting rotation after sitting out last season. Head coach Pat Casey said Martinek has fully recovered from the surgery but dealt with a finger issue during the winter that has led to him only pitching one inning this season.
