Oregon State baseball coach Pat Casey interviewed yesterday for the head coaching opening at Texas, but has decided to stay in Corvallis.
Texas had Casey high on their list of candidates to replace Auggie Garrido, after forcing Garrido, who had skippered 5 CWS championships, including 2 at Texas, into retirement as a result of the Longhorns failing to reach the post-season.
Casey saw his own run of 7 straight trips to the NCAA Tournament, and 10 in the last 11 years, snapped as well, after a 35-19 season.
Casey has not issued a statement, and neither has Oregon State, but Casey has told several of his intent to remain with the Beavers, including D1Baseball's Kendall Rodgers.
