On Thursday, the Pac-12 released it’s conference pairings of the 2019-2020 basketball season, while approving a change to the league’s schedule that will go into effect in the near future.
Starting in the 2020-2021 season, the Pac-12 will increase the league slate to 20 games, in a move that Pac-12 Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Jamie Zaninovich believes will “lead to more competitive schedules and help our programs and league achieve our goals of enhancing the Pac-12 basketball brand and preparation for postseason play.”
Oregon State athletic direction Scott Barnes, who also serves as the ADC liaison to the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball head coaches, also commented on the scheduling change by noting that, “strategic scheduling - both conference and non-conference - are critical to the strength and well-being of any league.
