Following a weekend series in Berkeley that saw the Beavers drop 2 of 3 to the Golden Bears and finish the regular season at 28-25 and 9-15 in Pac-12 play Laura Berg’s squad sat firmly on the post season bubble. The Beavs, who were 19-10 in non-conference action had some success against the nations best in the Pac-12, winning series against top 10 ranked UCLA and top 15 ranked UCLA, and giving #10 Washington all it could handle in a 3 game series that saw the Beavs win one and drop two close games. By the time yesterday’s selection show came around, many in Beaver nation were cautiously optimistic that they had done just enough to be one of 64 teams selected to compete for a national title.
