Corvallis, Ore. – The Oregon State men’s soccer team fell 1-0 to Washington at Lorenz Field on Thursday in its final game of the season.
The Beavers (8-9-1, 3-6-1 Pac-12) trailed 1-0 at halftime and spent the second half chasing the equalizer. However, Washington (8-5-6, 4-3-3 Pac-12) keeper Ryan Herman preserved the lead with a diving save of a header by Timmy Mueller midway through the second half to deny OSU’s best scoring opportunity.
OSU outshot Washington 8-6 in the second half, when Mueller had two of his three shots on goal. The Huskies outshot OSU 17-15 overall and had a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks, mostly (7) in the first half.
