An Oregon State University doctoral candidate died Sunday after crashing during a cycling race in Washington state.
Randall Fox, 29, suffered head and upper body injuries Saturday while racing with Oregon State's club cycling team in a road event hosted by the University of Washington's club, the family and OSU said.
He was unresponsive after the crash, his family said, and was taken to a Seattle hospital. His wife and family were with him when he died Sunday night, his family said.
Fox, whose hometown is Cottage Grove, Oregon, was studying thermal-fluid sciences and working on his dissertation.
