CORVALLIS, Ore. -- During Saturday's spring game at Reser Stadium, Oregon State’s passing attack took a major step forward with quarterback Darell Garretson.
Coach Gary Andersen might attribute it to more reps, more time spent in the offensive system and a better feel for the team and its players.
And all of those things might be true (in all likelihood they are), but wide receiver Jordan Villamin wants to give credit to something else -- FIFA, specifically, the FIFA video game.
Because when Garretson arrived in Corvallis last summer, long before he and Villamin hit the field to throw, they and some offensive players hit Villamin’s couch to play video games.
