RENO, Nev. - This one is going to sting.
But as much as Saturday night's 37-35 loss to Nevada hurts Oregon State, it's undeniable that the Beavers took a sizable step forward as a program.
Oregon State trailed 30-7 early in the second quarter, only to rally behind a suddenly stout defense. In the end, it came down to a field goal attempt, a 34-yarder that OSU's Jordan Choukair missed with no time remaining, sending the home-standing Wolf Pack into delirious celebration at Mackay Stadium.
"There's a lot of progress. Last year if we were down like that, a lot of guys would have gave up," Oregon State safety Jalen Moore said.
