For awhile, it looked like the Beavers were in trouble. They couldn’t hit any shots in the first, going 1-12 from the field, with a Destiny Slocum layup and a pair of Mikayla Pivec free throws being the only points in the quarter. The defense managed to control BYU, but with the team down 11-4 headed into the second, it looked like the team could suffer their first loss of the season.
Then they outscored the Cougars 61-22 over the rest of the game. The absolute dominance over the last three quarters got the Beavers to 11-0 on the season, the team’s best ever start.
