SAN FRANCISCO -- The Oregon State women's basketball team doesn't have Sydney Wiese anymore.
Not that it needed to be pointed out, but that's the one thing Beavers' coach Scott Rueck has heard countless times since his star point guard graduated and departed for the WNBA.
"How do you replace Sydney?" Rueck said he's been asked. "She meant a lot."
Wednesday was a start. At the Pac-12 media days, Rueck was joined by sophomore guard Mikayla Pivec and senior center Marie Gulich and a bit of deja vu struck the coach.
This felt very similar to a year ago, when many were questioning whether or not the Beavers could survive the departures from the prior year's Final Four squad.
