STANFORD, Calif. – The top-ranked Oregon State baseball team etched itself into the school's record books on Sunday. And just 25 games into the 2017 season.
The Beavers swept No. 11 Stanford Sunday at Sunken Diamond, winning the finale, 7-0, and in the process, set a school record with the team's 19th consecutive victory.
The Beavers surpassed their previous school record of 18 straight victories, set in both 1951 and 1962. Oregon State's (24-1 overall, 9-0 Pac-12 Conference) current win streak started Feb. 25 with a 5-2 win over Nebraska in Surprise, Ariz.
