CORVALLIS, Ore. – “Gundy ready, the 1-0 pitch. Flack, a fly ball to left center field. Tyler Graham moving in. Graham is there. The Beavers are the national champions!”
The final seconds of Oregon State’s march to the 2006 College World Series National Championship, as called by Mike Parker, are etched into the minds of Beaver Nation.
Ten years ago, the Beavers celebrated “one of the greatest moments in the history of Oregon State Athletics,” as Parker called to Beaver Nation.
Time has passed since the first of two national championships and Oregon State remains a powerhouse in college baseball, opening the 2016 next week as a consensus top 10 team.
