Oregon State will hire Wisconsin outside linebackers coach Tim Tibesar as defensive coordinator, according to multiple reports.
The school has not confirmed the hire.
The 45-year-old former All-American linebacker at North Dakota has spent the past three years at Wisconsin coaching under Paul Chryst. Chryst was twice the Oregon State offensive coordinator (1997-98, 2003-04), overlapping with Beavers head coach Jonathan Smith when Smith was a quarterback (1997-98) and graduate assistant (2003).
Three former Wisconsin players coached by Tibesar have been selected in the NFL draft: T.J. Watt, Vince Biegel, and Joe Schobert.
