intends to hire Dan Van De Riet as director of football operations, multiple sources told The Oregonian/OregonLive.
The long-time Oregon State staff member will return to Corvallis after a three years filling a similar role at Nebraska, where he joined former Beavers coach Mike Riley. Van De Riet and Riley started working together in 2003 when Riley returned for his second stint as OSU head football coach.
Like recently-named Oregon State football coach Jonathan Smith, Van De Riet's career overlapped the tenures of both Riley and former Beavers coach Dennis Erickson.
Van De Riet has 14 years of experience on the OSU staff, which started in 2001 under Erickson as an assistant director of football operations.
