OMAHA, Neb. – The Oregon State baseball team opened the College World Series in style Saturday afternoon, as the Beavers overcame a four-run deficit to defeat Cal State Fullerton 6-5 in Omaha, Neb.
OSU's offense came alive in the sixth inning, as the Beavers scored four runs in the frame to level the score at five. Catcher Adley Rutschman, who also came up with a big defensive play in the contest, drove in the game-winning run with a single in the eighth.
Redshirt-junior Jack Anderson went 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Nick Madrigal tallied two hits and drove in a run.
