Oregon State Soccer: Goalkeeper Bella Geist Drafted By NWSL’s Portland Thorns

Another Beaver turned pro Thursday as senior goalkeeper Bella Geist was a third round pick (29th overall) by Portland’s professional women’s soccer team the Portland Thorns.

She was the only Oregon State player selected in this year’s draft. Geist, a Milwaukie, Oregon native, is OSU’s all-time saves leader with 394 saves in her career. That’s also the fourth most in a career in the history of the Pac-12.

She had 18 clean sheets over her four year career and set the program single-season saves record as a freshman with 126.

Geist has also trained with the United States U-23 National Team.
